24 APR 2010: The inaugural Broad Run 5K took place this morning in Bristow, Virginia. The event was spearheaded by Rick Holt of the Prince William Trail and Streams Coalition. Proceeds from the 1Mile Run and 5K go towards the development, promotion, and maintenance of the trail system through out Prince William County. With an on again, off again drizzle rain, the 1 Mile kids fun run started at 8:00am, followed by the 5K @ 8:30am. The trails stayed reasonably dry during both events as course meandered thru the Broad Run while hugging the scenic creek.
